Concluding Observations on the 3rd Periodic Report of the Republic of Cameroon

The Commission condemned “[t]he judicial harassment, offences against life and other violations of the rights of human rights defenders, in particular the rights of defenders working in the area of sexual orientation.” Also the “discrimination, stigma and violation of the right to life and physical and mental integrity of individuals based on their sexual orientation.” The Commission implored Cameroon to “[t]ake appropriate measures to ensure the safety and physical integrity of all persons irrespective of their sexual orientation and maintain an atmosphere of tolerance towards sexual minorities in the country.”
